Who We Are


       Bob Lawson is the founder and chief architect behind Barrington Capital Management, Inc. and Barrington Capital Management, Inc. Insurance Agency, and has been involved in the financial services industry since 1982.  BCM, Inc. is a Registered Investment Advisor licensed since 1988 and proudly serves institutional, independent financial advisors, retail investors, profit sharing and pension plans.  BCM, Inc. has earned the designation of Accredited Business from the Better Business Bureau (BBB) of Minnesota.

       There is no substitute for experience and Bob's wealth of knowledge and national training in a wide variety financial products and services, compliance and regulatory issues, has benefited many for almost 30 years.  Bob was nominated as a Five Star Wealth Manager and Best in Client Satisfaction as seen in the Minneapolis-St. Paul and Twin Cities Business Magazine in the January 2008, 2009 and 2010 editions. 

       Bob has successfully passed numerous FINRA Principal/Supervisory exams, two state securities/law exams and one general industry/product exams and has trained and supervised numerous Registered Representatives, Investment Advisors and Insurance Agents and has educated thousands of retail investors since 1982.  He has also been awarded the Registered Financial Consultant (RFC), Life Underwriter Training Council Fellow, (LUTCF) and Certified Senior Advisor (CSA) designation.  In addition, Bob has completed comprehensive training in High Value Stock Option Planning and  has special expertise in Point and Figure Analysis.  He is a member of the National Ethics Bureau (NEB), Minnesota Society of CPA's (MNCPA), Financial Planning Association of MN (FPAMN), and has a Masters Designation from the National Association of Investment Professionals (NAIP).

      Bob is an independent 
FINRA Dispute Resoution Arbitrator and has successfully completed eight specialized Arbitration and Chairperson's examinations.  An Arbitrator's objective is to render a final and binding decision between disputing investors and securities firms.  Arbitrators serve as decision makers, carefully weighing the facts of each case presented.    FINRA Arbitrators provide a fair, impartial, and an efficient system of dispute resolution.  Visit www.finra.org for additional information on how FINRA protects and serves investors.
